An Introduction to The Hunchback of Notre Dame

‘Come One, Come All!’

Experience The Hunchback of Notre Dame, the beautiful and thrilling musical tale of lonely bellringer Quasimodo. Locked away with only his guardian Frollo and some gargoyles for company, he dreams of walking among the citizens of Paris.

When he finally breaks free, Quasimodo meets the lovely Esmeralda, who shows him true compassion for the very first time. But Frollo has darker plans for her…

This stunning and soaring show combines Victor Hugo’s novel with the popular Disney film, featuring beloved songs like ‘The Bells of Notre Dame’, ‘Out There’, ‘Hellfire’, ‘Topsy-Turvy’, and ‘God Help the Outcasts’. With a gorgeous and evocative score, spectacular and heartbreaking characters, and a full onstage choir, this fabulous production ultimately invites us all to consider: ‘What makes a monster and what makes a man?’

The script and score distinguish between the “congregation” and the “choir”.

Congregation: The theatre troop (both principals and ensemble) who present the show to the audience. The storytellers, actors, singers and dancers.

Choir: A separate ensemble from the Congregation. They play as the choir of Notre Dame, overlapping with the congregation but (mostly) outside of the drama of the stage.

Whether you’re in the cast, crew, or audience, The Hunchback of Notre Dame promises a journey filled with passion, power, and pure entertainment.
