Jason Allen-Lane

Director

Jason returns as creative lead with an electric vision and a passion for making magic on stage. With a career that kicked off at just six years old in Ireland’s prestigious Billie Barry Stage School, Jason’s journey spans everything from performing, choreographing and directing

He’s no stranger to bold productions (hello, Cats, Evita and Legally Blonde), and this next adventure promises to be bigger, bolder, and more inclusive than ever. The whole Company is in for a creative thrill ride, and Jason’s already deep into planning, which started back in April with trusted collaborators like Stage Manager Mark Wiggins, costume genius Deborah Porton, Visual Designer Jay Welsh and Musical Director Phil Clemence-Jackson by his side and of course it wouldn’t be a show without our lovely Bonnie as Props Manager.

This show is Jason’s third RMTC mainstage directing gig and it’s going to rock. Whether you’re a familiar face or stepping into the spotlight for the first time, Jason wants you in. Get ready to dive into the world of Globalsoft and the Bohemians, where every performer counts and the energy is turned all the way up.

Join us at the launch night on Tuesday 9th September 2025 to get the inside scoop on auditions and the creative adventure ahead. This one’s going to be unforgettable, and Jason can’t wait to see you there.

Philip Clemence-Jackson

Musical Director

We Will Rock You will be Philip’s 4th show on an RMTC creative team, having MD’d Legally Blonde, Avenue Q and Musicality. Other MDing credits include Sweeny ToddRock of Ages, Oklahoma, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Wedding Singer, Into the Woods, and the UK debut of The Book of Mormon. Philip’s experience is not limited to the pit: he has also appeared on stage in shows including The Wedding Singer(George), Seussical (Mr Mayor), A Little Night Music (Henrik), My Fair Lady (Freddie), Into the Woods (Narrator/Mysterious Man); and The Last 5 Years (Jamie). Outside of musical theatre he has been involved with choirs (both as organist and singer), acapella and barbershop groups, jazz bands and concert bands and teaching.

He draws on this broad experience in MDing, taking an active and dynamic approach to teaching in rehearsals. He starts with the essential melodies and rhythms and then goes beyond this to impart style, dynamics and meaning, enhancing the notes on the page beyond their basic meanings and into a fully-fledged performance that audiences will love.

Philip expects hard work from a cast throughout the whole rehearsal run, but the payoff is an effortless, professional, amazing performance by a Company which raises the bar every time.
